# Pharmacy regulation in Ontario

The Ontario College of Pharmacists, the Ontario Drug Benefit, the health card number, and what PharmFlow does and does not do in Ontario.

## Pharmacy regulator

**Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP).** OCP's public register is a JavaScript search app with per-pharmacy profiles and no bulk export. PharmFlow does not carry OCP register data.

## Public drug plan

**Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB).** ODB is the provincial drug plan and a first payer. PharmFlow's carrier table lists it with the Ontario Health Network System switch. That entry is a lookup reference, not a claim submission.

## Health number

**Ontario health card number.** The Ontario Drug Benefit bills on the patient's Ontario health card number, the same number OHIP uses. PharmFlow encodes no check-digit rule for it.

## What PharmFlow does not do in Ontario

- Insurance claims adjudication is not shipped. PharmFlow does not submit claims to provincial or private payers.
- No Ontario formulary data. Ontario's formulary is a separate open-data file and is out of scope for the formulary pipeline.
- The OCP register is search-only, so PharmFlow's pharmacy reference data does not include Ontario pharmacies.
- PharmFlow does not connect to the Ontario Health Network System.
