Pharmacy software in BC works inside a fixed frame: PharmaNet records what is dispensed, the College of Pharmacists of BC sets the practice rules, and PharmaCare decides coverage.

PharmFlow is built for that frame. Check-in validates the Personal Health Number. PharmFlow ships a PharmaCare formulary reference built from the province's published drug data file.

PharmaNet, PCR, and PLR integration is code complete and awaiting credentials. PharmFlow is in onboarding with BC CIS and does not read or write PharmaNet today.

What makes BC different

• PharmaNet is the provincial record for every dispensed prescription. Vendor access requires onboarding with the Ministry of Health CIS team.
• The College of Pharmacists of BC licenses pharmacies and pharmacists, and audits PharmaNet access.
• PIPA, BC's private-sector privacy law, governs patient records. PharmFlow logs who viewed each record.
• PharmaCare decides public coverage. Staff check plan codes and formulary status every day.

What PharmFlow ships for BC today

• PHN validation: check-in verifies the structure of a BC Personal Health Number before a pickup is confirmed.
• PharmaCare reference: PharmFlow loads a formulary table per DIN and plan, from the published drug data file.
• Carrier data: the insurance billing guide lists BC carriers and notes that public plans such as PharmaCare are billed first.
• Audit logging: every view and action on a patient record is logged and exports to CSV.
• Encryption at rest: patient fields are encrypted with AES-256-GCM.

Integration status, stated plainly

• PharmaNet, PCR, and PLR: written, awaiting credentials. The connection stays idle until the province issues credentials.
• Onboarding means signed agreements (VPA/DSA), then sandbox and production credentials from the CIS team.
• Until credentials arrive, PharmFlow does not read, write, or display PharmaNet data.
• Claims adjudication is not shipped, to PharmaCare or to private carriers. The billing guide is a reference, not a claims channel.
